Zaragoza

> We had 10 days in the city of Zaragoza which makes up over half of Aragon's population. We stayed during Holy Week and experienced the amazing celebrations. Over 15,000 drummers parade through the streets, more so during the religious days, and all are dressed in robes according to their parish colours. The noise and atmosphere were amazing and so was the tapas! Another favourite was the ternasco which is suckling lamb usually served with potatoes - unbelievably good! So is Hotel Sauce where we stayed, a small, family run hotel where Isabel and all the staff make you feel more than welcome.

On the road in northern Spain

We are gradually making our way to Basque Country, northern Spain and below pics show two stops on our route that we loved, Jorba and Escatron.  In Jorba, we stayed in a converted paper mill which had been designed and renovated by the owners which took five years.  It was in a beautiful and peaceful part of the Aragon countryside.

In Escatron, we stayed in the the Monasterio de Rueda, a magnificent old monastery which has been converted into a hotel and its star attraction was a working water wheel.

Until next time, Adios
